About the Experience
Kaudulla National Park is a lush sanctuary nestled in a vital wildlife corridor. The park centers around the Kaudulla Tank, which attracts large herds of elephants during the dry months. The surrounding landscape consists of wet evergreen forests, scrublands, and swamp areas, making it a favorite spot for birds, deer, and reptiles.
Kaudulla is home to Sri Lankan sambar deer, wild boar, leopards, sloth bears, and mugger crocodiles. You will also see grey-headed fish eagles, painted storks, and peacocks.
Key Highlights
- Stunning wetland scenery with lush, green plains surrounding the reservoir.
- Active wildlife corridor hosting migrating elephant herds.
- Spectacular bird watching (eagles, storks, herons, and endemic species).
